Like Santa’s elves, we’ve been very busy this month spreading festive cheer around south west London.
Last week we returned to Linden Lodge School, the specialist sensory and physical college for visually impaired pupils, including those who are multi-disabled visually impaired.
With jingle bells in our hands and Santa hats on our heads, we joined the children and staff in singing Christmas favourites including Deck the Halls, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Walking in the Air. But the musical highlight came from the pupils themselves who took to the piano and led us in a rousing rendition of I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday and a beautifully touching performance of Bach’s Prelude.
We’ve been singing at Linden Lodge School each Christmas for many years now and each year is more fun-filled, joyous and inspiring than the last.
Later that week we went carol singing at East Putney and Wandsworth Town stations. Raising money for our supported charity, Regenerate Rise, we welcomed commuters and Christmas shoppers home with well-known Christmas carols and plenty of cheer.
And so, as the year draws to a close, we’d like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and, if you’re thinking of something new to do in 2020, we’d love you to come and sing with us. You can find out more about joining the choir here.
